Stop shaving and start epilating! I’m a busy mom and I just don’t have time to shave every day. I also do not have the extra funds to get my legs waxed every few weeks either. So, I decided about a year ago to invest in a good epilator hair remover. I haven’t shaved since! If you are interested in a hair remover that will give you long lasting results, look no further than an epilator shaver. Regular shaving only removes the hair at the surface. Waxing can be long-lasting, but when the hair starts to grow back, you have to wait until it’s long enough to wax a gain – who wants to walk around with hairy legs for a couple of weeks?! Waxing isn’t cheap, either.

Enter epilators! The way epilators work is comparable to waxing in that you hair is pulled out from the root. If you’re a woman, then you’re probably familiar with tweezing – eyebrows or other areas – right? Imagine forty tweezers pulling in unison to pull out your leg hair – at about thirty-two thousand tweezes a minute – that’s how an epilator shaver does it.

Epilating has its drawbacks, the worst of which is the pain associated with using it.  Each person has a different pain tolerance, so it’s tough to say just how much it hurts or doesn’t hurt.  But I can say this – the first one or two times are the worst by far!  After that, if you keep using it regularly, the hair starts to come in very thin and you hardly feel them being pulled out when you epilate – really!

Epilating also has its advantages, the best being that you don’t have to wait days, even weeks, for your hair to grow long enough to use it again like you would for waxing.  Most epilators will be able to pull out even the shortest of hairs.  Using an epilator will give you two to four weeks (depending on your hair’s growth cycle) of hair-free smoothness!

The epilator that I have been using for nearly a year now is the Braun Silk-Epil Xpressive Epilator Body System.  It is corded, but I have not had any issues with the cord at all because it’s nice and long – and I like the fact that I don’t have to worry about possibly running out of battery charge in the middle of my hair removal.

always looking for better ways to remove hair. Thanks for the information.

This is definitely one of the great ways to do it (for me it has been, anyway!)

Hello, hello, 14 months ago

It sounds a great articale.

have you seen a significant decrease in hair growth or thickness?

Lily Rose 11 months ago

Thanks for your question, Eliza ~ YES! The amount of hair on my legs has significantly decreased as well as the thickness. The hair is so fine now that even when I go a while without epilating and it gets longer than usual it's not noticeable unless you get real close - it's great! The only negative is that I do tend to get occasional ingrown hairs but I've found a couple of products specifically to help that that seem to work well, and the occasional ingrown is worth it for the results that the epilator give me - I'll never go back to shaving with a razor (my legs, anyway!)
