Chuggington is an animated TV program for preschool aged children that’s based on trains. Every episode is written with the intent of mixing in positive life lessons with the entertainment in order to help promote social readiness skills in young children.

Three young trainees (get it? “train”ees?!), Wilson, Brewster, and Koko learn to ride the rails of life in one humorous adventure after another. They interact with lots of other railway friends which includes the oldest steam engine and all the way to the sleekest bullet train. All of the other trains that the trainees come across help encourage and guide them as they improve their skills.

The new experiences that the trainees encounter are akin to those of a child as they grow and learn new skills. Also, like real life parents and other family members and friends, the “Chuggers” – the older and wiser trains – are always around to encourage and support the trainees. Lessons learned while watching Chuggington include being a good friend, believing in yourself, why telling the truth is important, and how to listen carefully, complete tasks, resolve conflict and other great life lessons.
