Mindflex - A Top Game by Mattell
59
My daughter turned four yesterday and she received a Toys R Us gift card for her birthday from a friend, so we went there yesterday so she could spend it. While we were walking around the store, a display in the middle of a main aisle caught my eye – it was for this game, Mindflex. The name was the first thing that peaked my interest, then the pictures on the box. I have never seen anything like this and I wanted to know more…
What is Mindflex?
Well, have you ever thought about how cool it would be to be able to move an object with your mind? Now you can! The object of this game is to move a ball through an obstacle course, but with the power of your mind and not your hand. The more you concentrate and focus, the more impact you’ll have on the game. With five different games, nine interchangeable obstacles, and three levels of play you can enjoy hundreds of combinations. It’s truly all about mind over matter. You have to experience it to believe it - open your mind and you’ll be surprised at the amazing things that it can do. Up to four players can compete at a time for the fastest time through the obstacle course.
When you purchase Mindflex, you get the console, a headset, four balls, three ring towers, five rings, two maze cages, two wall panels, four shelf panels, one three-piece funnel, one three-piece cannon, one teeter-totter, and one propeller wheel. It does not come with batteries; you’ll need four C batteries (for the console) and three AAA batteries (for the headset).
The age recommendation for this game is age eight and up, and it definitely seems to be something that truly would have a large appeal among kids, teens, and adults alike. I know I want it!
How Mindflex Works
Your concentration generates brain wave activity and the wireless headset that you wear transmits a signal to the Mindflex console which then activates a fan that makes a foam ball levitate. The more you concentrate, the stronger the fan blows and the higher the ball levitates – and the more you relax your mind, the lower the ball floats. It’s that simple – yet that complicated!
Mindflex Reviews
Mindflex has received a lot of great reviews on Amazon from consumers. Several of the comments claim that Mindflex has helped kids with concentration problems (ADHD and even Autism) because of how intriguing the game is and the fact that it requires concentration to make it work. Some comments claim that it could be used as a tool to improve upon students’ school studies by improving their concentration, thereby helping them pay better attention in class, increase reading comprehension, and even do better on homework.
Besides the above reviews, there are many positive reviews from all ages - click the link to the right and check them out for yourself . There are several not-so-positive reviews as well and it seems that those reviewers were either skeptics or were not able to concentrate enough to get it to work well for themselves.
You'll have to make up your own "mind" ... I know I will!
